A "fossil" is a very old plant or animal encased in rock. What conditions are needed to make a fossil? How do we know the age of fossils? How long does it really take? Most fossils are made through catastrophic rapid burial before the plant or animal is eaten by scavengers or has time to decay. Yet, in a laboratory with the right chemicals, heat, and pressure a fossil can be made that is indistinguishable from the real thing in a matter of days. What does the Bible have to say about fossils? Are they really millions of years old? Could they be much younger?
